The idea to brainstorm again in groups re: the interdisciplinary strengths and gaps was least it reflected the interests of those persons present. The "Imagine an entity at Pacific that..." was surprisingly focused on only one of the alternatives (developing an undergraduate program in Health Studies that would evolve into a graduate program). Although an undergraduate health sciences/studies track would be important for funneling students into health sciences graduate programs, it would not, in my opinion, answer the broader question of how to implement a health initiative university wide and extending directly to the community. It would help with IPE and diversify areas of study for the health science careers. Would such an undergraduate program as a stand alone degree serve to enter a career? I agree that it might serve as a useful program, but think it is limited in its applicability to the university as a whole (faculty, staff, students) and to the community at large as a health initiative program. It may be that no one project would serve well and that multiple projects would be more purposeful in accomplishing a health and wellness (or well-being) approach. Venue and food were fine. The speaker was pleasant and excellent. Thank you, Rahnea Sunseri, MPAS Program
