Beyond Our Gates Dialogue

Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 9:00 am to 11:00 am

Alex and Jeri Vereschagin Alumni House
1022 Dave Brubeck Way, University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA 95204

Join us in a discussion about literacy, information and inequality with keynote speaker Susan B. Neuman '78. Neuman is an author and professor of early literacy development at New York University. She's also a former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Elementary and Secondary Education whose recent research on "book deserts" identifies stark disparities in access to books among poor and more affluent communities -- and how those differences affect literacy development.
