Re-imagining the Future of Orthodontics with Clear Aligner Technique
Sandra Tai, BDS, MS
Clear aligner treatment is now a proven orthodontic technique that is able to treat a wide range of malocclusions. This presentation will discuss differences in biomechanics between how fixed appliances and clear aligners move teeth. It will offer a perspective on how to evaluate different clear aligner systems and to select a clear aligner system based on components of the system and the type of tooth movements required. An overview of clear aligner treatment will be given, including aligner innovations that are available to treat deep bite, open bite, Class II and premolar extraction cases with excellent clinical outcomes.
