The Record’s Literacy and Book Fair - Family Day at the Park - provides a day of fun and educational activities for the entire community.
University of the Pacific partners with dozens of schools, community organizations and businesses to provide activities and interactive projects at all booths. The festivities begin at 10 a.m. with a parade including the Cesar Chavez Marching Band, cheerleaders and mascots.
Pacific, the main sponsor of Library Lane, will have several booths:
- Community Involvement Program students will dress as superheroes –from Black Panther to Spiderman to Wonder Woman -- and read to children. They will pass out a free book and a Pacific superhero cape to children who listen to a reading.
- Center for Community Involvement students will play interactive learning games with children and distribute information on its programs.
- Pacific Athletics will have staff members and athletes present to interact with Family Day attendees.
- Conservatory of Music students will join Stockton Symphony musicians for an instrument “petting zoo’’ – allowing children to play different instruments.
