"COOKING UP A SECOND ACT: NARRATIVES AND IMAGES OF WOMEN'S TRANSFORMATION THROUGH FOOD WORK" with Kimberly Nettles-Barcelon, University of California, Davis
Many contemporary women seem to be (re)turning to the kitchen as a site of passion and commerce. This presentation explores "second act" written and visual narratives (think My Life from Scratch or Julie & Julia) in which food-domesticity plays a significant role in a woman's personal and professional transformation.
