On May 6, 2020, the U.S. Department of Education announced new comprehensive Title IX regulatory changes that are both historic and extensive. These changes took effect on August 14, 2020, and have the force and effect of law. University of the Pacific believes strongly that Title IX must protect all students and employees. Title IX regulations set a floor for compliance, but Pacific aims for excellence to ensure sex/gender equity and inclusion for all members of its community. The changes to Title IX may appear to create barriers to reporting sexual misconduct. However, we are committed to minimizing those barriers as much as possible.
Substantial changes to the Policy Prohibiting Sexual Misconduct, Discrimination, and Retaliation and the associated procedures were necessary.
Join Title IX Coordinator Elizabeth Trayner as she shares information about the changes that have been made and what it means for you and our students!
