California’s Governor is a key player in the legislative process, influencing the political agenda and possessing significant budget and veto authority, among other things. As chief executive officer of the state’s bureaucracy, the Governor also wields enormous power over how laws are implemented. Join Professor Chris Micheli, McGeorge School of Law, as he discusses the important role of the Governor in California lawmaking, sharing his decades of expertise as a legislative affairs practitioner at Aprea and Micheli, and as a faculty member in McGeorge’s Master of Science in Law (MSL) program. The event will include brief information about opportunities to build your own expertise in government law and politics by earning an MSL in a fully online, part-time graduate program at McGeorge School of Law.
