Trade Wars: The Politics of International Trade

Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm

Janet Leigh Theatre
3601 Pacific Ave, Stockton, CA 95211

The Trump administration’s announcement of new tariffs on imported steel could be the first salvo in a coming trade war. But, as in all wars, there will be winners and losers. In this lecture by University of the Pacific political science professor Dan O'Neill, we will examine the politics of international trade. Focusing on the U.S. -- China case, we will discuss who wins and who loses from international trade, as well as who benefits and who is harmed when those flows of goods and services across borders are restricted.
