Wendell Phillips Center (WPC), Room 140
1000-1070 W Stadium Dr, University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA 95204

Gender Studies and End Rape Culture (a nonprofit in Stockton) present "Unslut: Six Stories, One Word." The film by Emily Lindin explores the harm of labels and ways to combat sexual bullying.  Following the film, there will be a discussion with Lindin, Dr. Lara Killick, Judi Javier-Casillas, Senior Health Educator at Planned Parenthood Monica Miranda, and ERC co-founder and Pacific alumna Erica Magana.

Why is the sexual shaming of girls and women, especially sexual assault victims, still so prevalent in the United States and Canada? UnSlut: A Documentary Film features conversations with those who have experienced sexual shaming. Through interviews with sexuality experts, advocates, and media figures, UnSlut: A Documentary Film explores the causes and manifestations of sexual shaming in North America and offers immediate and long-term goals for personal, local, and institutional solutions. It was awarded Best Documentary at the 2016 California Women's Film Festival, among a host of other accolades.
