Ken Burns' Vietnam War documentary preview screening
University of the Pacific and KVIE, Sacramento's PBS station, collaborate to preview noted documentary maker Ken Burns' upcoming 10-part series on the Vietnam War.
THE VIETNAM WAR, tells the epic story of one of the most consequential, divisive and controversial events in American history as it has never before been told on film. The evening starts with a reception in the Regents Room at 6 p.m., followed by a screening of a portion of the documentary at 6:30 p.m. in the Janet Leigh Theatre. Finally, there will be a panel discussion that includes Pacific history professor Greg Rohlf and local veterans advocate and Vietnam veteran Tino Adame.
Burns' documentary will run for 18 hours over 10 days beginning on Sept. 17.
