Reynolds Gallery proudly presents "Words, Tones, Notions: 40 Years of Print, Illustration and Design of Czech artist Alena Nievaldová" on view through December 13.

In her work, Nievaldová weaves the disciplines of art, design and illustration seamlessly together. She earned her master's degree in bookmaking and typography at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in the 1970s. After graduation, she created numerous book illustrations and film posters and designed books and book covers. She creates illustrations using printmaking techniques, primarily woodcuts and wood engraving as well as drawing in pen and ink, and gouache.
