International Education Week

International Education Week (IEW) is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of an effort to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders to study, learn, and exchange experiences.  Here at Pacific, the theme for IEW 2018 is “International is for Everyone” and the focus is to call attention to the value, relevance, and impact of an international experience.  There will be over 30 events sponsored by departments and organizations from every corner of campus.

Message from President Eibeck:

“This year University of the Pacific is focusing on our value of diversity and inclusion. Wonderful ways to celebrate that value will be found throughout our upcoming International Education Week. During the week of November 12-16, our university will come to life with diverse culinary experiences and engaging discussions. Our community can partake in cooking demonstrations of cuisines from around the world at our DeRosa University Center or take a virtual reality tour to cities around the world at our own William Knox Holt Memorial Library. There will be engaging presentations and conversations that will highlight the entire week. I am very proud of the work done by those in our International Programs and Services to create an exciting week of activities. Our ability to learn and grow through the study of other cultures truly epitomizes our values and helps us each grow closer to being even greater citizens of the world. Enjoy!”

- Pamela A. Eibeck, President
